At 14:51 local time on 30/10/2020, an earthquake of M 6.6 (Interior Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency) shook the third biggest city Izmir at a depth of 17.26 km.
It is reported that there are 12 ex and more than 500 wounded victims.
AKUT Emergency Management Immediately began monitoring developments as they unfolded, and the decision was made to deploy.
AKUT is participating in the search and rescue effort with 7 teams, 79 personnel and 3 search dogs at 4 different sites. AKUT extricated 5 living victims up until now. 10 other AKUT teams are on their way.
